The University Store works closely with faculty to insure course books are readily available to students.  We also try to supply as large a quantity of used books as possible from many sources.  Unfortunately, there are situations where only new titles are available such as when a new edition of the book is published.  Used course books generally retail for 25% less than new course books and the quality of used textbooks may vary.  Substitutions to your order may be necessary should the item you requested not be in-stock.  For example, a new book will be substituted for a used book or a for purchase used book substituted for a rental title.  Should you decide not to keep one or more of your textbooks you may return it/them in purchased condition (i.e., no writing in new books, unopened shrink-wrapped books, undamaged, etc.) and with the cash register receipt up to and including;

  • FALL 2010 - last day to return is Saturday, September 4, 2010

After the announced return date all textbook sales are final.

Fall 2010 textbooks are available for On-line ordering and as In-store Pickup only.  Special shipping consideration will only be given for distance education courses.   The actual shipping costs will be added at the time the order is processed.  The standard $6.95 shipping fee is not applicable for textbook orders.  There is a $5.00 handling fee that will display as (In Store Pickup/Handling Fee) during checkout and on your invoice.  At this time textbook orders will be processed starting approximately August 16, 2010.

In accordance with the Higher Education Opportunity Act we are listing course information in several new ways.

1.  We will show bundled textbooks (more than one component) both as a bundle and the individual components within the same course.  The bundled item will be shown as the Required book while the individual components will be displayed as Optional items.  Component items may be purchased as a Special Order item.

2.  E-book versions of the textbook will display along within the same course but show as an Optional book.  The e-Book may be purchased as a substitution to the physical book.  E-Books are downloadable versions of the actual book.  You will receive an access code and instructions on how to download the e-Book.

3.  If the book is available in a rental version a line displaying (Book's Title) Book Rental and (Author's Name) Rental and will display along with the sale version of the book but as an Optional book.   Rental Book title example;  The Basic Practice Of Statistics Book Rental, Moore Rental.  Select this line to rent the book.  Textbook Rentals are available in limited quantities.

4.  ISBN numbers ending with a B bogus.  Bogus ISBNs can be due to course material that is custom printed, has no real ISBN number, is a rental book or the information is not available at this time.

When your order is complete you will be notified via e-mail.  Please do not come to the store prior to this notification.  Also, please do not confuse the initial order confirmation you receive after checkout .  After notification you may pick up your order at the Convenience Store from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.   Starting Saturday and Sunday, August 28 & 29, 2010 pickup your order at the Textbook Reservation/Web Order pickup window between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.  The pickup window is located on the lower floor of The University Center across from the PSECU office,   Please bring a copy of your order and a photo ID.

***Textbook prices are subject to change without notice.  This is due to publisher price increases.***   A price change may not be apparent on your on-line order or invoice but will be reflected on The University Store's cash register receipt that will accompany your order.  This is the amount you have actually been charged for an item or items.
